ALLEN & OVERY CONGRATULATES WINNER OF THE IFR EUROPEAN
SECURITISATION OF THE YEAR
International law firm Allen & Overy congratulates
Telereal on winning the IFR European Securitisation of the Year
Award, announced last Thursday 9 January, at the Thomson IFR* Annual
Awards Gala Dinner in London.
Allen & Overy advised Salomon Schroder Smith
Barney as lead manager of the securitisation and the banks, in the
£1.8 billion asset-backed securitisation of leasehold properties
acquired from and leased back to British Telecom.
The securitisation property portfolio comprised
5,665 properties and was, in December 2001, the largest property
securitisation ever.
IFR judges looked at issuers that had executed successful
deals in difficult market conditions or had broken new ground.
The Allen & Overy team consisted of lawyers
from across the firm, including the securitisation, banking, real
estate, tax, environmental, regulatory and derivatives practices.
The team was led by securitisation partner David Krischer and real
estate partner Daniel McKimm, assisted by associates John Skuter,
John McGrath, Philip Bowden, Ian Borman and Liz Lim. Partner Paul
Bedford and associate Tak Matsuda acted for Citicorp Trustee Company
Limited in its capacity as trustee for the securitisation.
