Wins South America Banking & Finance Team of the Year
São Paulo, Brazil, May 29, 2003 – Baker
& McKenzie announced today that it is the winner of Chambers
& Partners’ 2003 Global Award for ‘Banking and Finance
Firm of the Year’, in recognition of its South American practice.
The Firm accepted the honor at Chambers’ annual award ceremony
held in London, May 21.
The Global Award program noted Baker & McKenzie’s “extensive
continental office network and fantastic track record,” and
its “client-focused Brazilian arm” which has realized
much recent growth in bank assurance work. Also noted was the Firm’s
Buenos Aires team’s work in restructuring and refinancing,
and Venezuela’s international practice, as well as its work
in the insurance market.

Chambers & Partners Global Award 2003 judges included General

and Standard Chartered Bank.
