DR OLAF GRABOWSKI JOINS LOVELLS' INTERNATIONAL BANKING PRACTICE
28 April 2003 Dr Olaf Grabowski, previously a senior
counsel and a director at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, joins
Lovells as a partner on 1 May 2003, based in the Frankfurt office.
He will be a member of Lovells' international banking practice,
focusing on transactional banking activities, in particular, project,
commodity and acquisition finance. His appointment supports Lovells'
strategy to be a leading law firm in Germany with a strong banking
practice.
During his time with Dresdner, Olaf specialised
in project, commodity and acquisition financing, and has extensive
experience of emerging market transactions. Prior to working for
Dresdner, he spent six years as head of the international section
of the legal department at Landesbank Hessen-Thuringen Girozentrale
in Frankfurt, working on a wide range of international banking and
finance matters. Though the majority of his career has been spent
in-house, Olaf began his career in private practice, working for
Shearman & Sterling in Frankfurt.
Lovells' international banking practice includes over 40 partners
and 100 other lawyers worldwide, with specialists in key areas such
as acquisition finance, project and asset finance and structured
commodity finance.
Andrew Gamble, head of Lovells' international banking practice said:
"Olaf's wide experience in the German banking
sector, coupled with his knowledge of emerging markets, will strengthen
our banking practice not only domestically in Germany but also in
Russia and Eastern Europe".
Dr Olaf Grabowski commented:
"Moving back into private practice will enable
me to focus on the areas I'm particularly interested in, such as
acquisition and structured commodity finance work. Lovells, with
its strong presence in Germany and its global reach, is ideally
placed not only to carry out big ticket finance deals in Germany
but also to service German finance institutions in the developing
economies of Eastern Europe and Russia."
