Orrick continues London office growth with expansion of its international
structured finance capability

International law firm Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe has announced the
appointment of Bodo Schaar, who will join as a partner in the London office.
Schaar joins from the Frankfurt office of Allen & Overy where he was a
partner. He was previously at Clifford Chance in London.

The appointment is part of Orrick's strategy to grow its core practice areas
in both the UK and Europe and follows the announcement last month of the
opening of its office in Paris.

Bodo Schaar focuses on securitisations, credit derivatives, and
international capital markets transactions and he represents leading
investment banks active in the German and European market.

Schaar's appointment follows the recent announcements that Adrian Harris had
joined Orrick's London office to build a European corporate restructuring
practice, and that Carl Liederman and Yomi Akinjide had joined to develop
the corporate and M&A team. In early November, Jim Waddington joined to
strengthen the London based international structured and corporate finance
capability, as part of Orrick's continuing strategy to develop a significant
English law component in its core practice areas.

Commenting on the move Michael Bacon, Orrick's Partner-in-Charge of
International Offices said: "Bodo's appointment reinforces our strategy to
develop London and our continental European capability in tandem through our
core practice areas. His cross- border skills complement our structured
finance team in London and create a bridge to the key German market. "

Bodo added: " Orrick's global structured finance practice has a market
leading reputation in the US, Europe and Asia and provides a superb platform
for international clients. Many of the key European and international
financial institutions manage their structured transactions in London and so
the opportunity to work with Orrick here places me nearer to my clients and
their business operations. "
