Standard Chartered strengthens global ABS capabilities

 

April 24, 2003: Standard Chartered has strengthened its asset-backed securitisation (ABS) capabilities with the hires of Rahul Arora, Peter Dow and Nicholas Winther.

Rahul Arora has joined as Managing Director responsible for all non-origination related aspects of the business. Rahul joins from Banc of America Securities, where he spent more than six years in a variety of conduit and capital markets roles in the securitisation group. Based initially in the United States, Rahul reports to Martin Essenburg, Global Head of Asset Securitisation.

Peter Dow has joined as Director responsible for building Standard Chartered's ABS and MBS global distribution capabilities. He joins from WestLB, where he was product manager in the ABS and Principal Finance teams involved in the distribution of ABS and MBS throughout the European institutional investor market. Based in London, Peter reports to Rahul.

Nicholas Winther has joined the ABS team in London as an Associate. Prior to Standard Chartered, Nicholas spent six years with JP Morgan Chase involved in ABS transactions for the emerging markets and corporate real estate sectors, as well as project finance and syndicated finance activities for Europe and the Middle East. Nicholas reports to Noel Edison, Head of Asset Securitisation for Emerging Europe, Africa, Middle East and South Asia.
